24 update for Civilization VI introduces a brand new game mode, Dramatic Ages.

Gaul’s unique district is the Oppidium, which is cheaper and more readily available than an Industrial Zone. Gaul’s unique unit, the Gaesatae, is more expensive to build but balances by gaining more combat strength when fighting stronger foes or district defenses. The unique Civilization Ability is Hallstatt Culture, which makes mines provide minor bonuses to nearby districts, a culture bomb of unowned land and gives bonus culture. Ambiorix’s Leader Ability, King of The Eburones, allows him to gain more culture by producing non civilian units and gives melee, anti-cavalry and ranged units bonus strength for every adjacent military unit. Gaul features unique units, buildings and abilities. Firaxis gave fans a first look at Ambiorix’s specialties, as well. Not much is known about how Gaul will play in Civilization VI, but there’s still plenty of info on the civilization itself. He even led an insurrection against Caesar’s invading army during the winter of 54 BC. Though Ambiorix serves as a title meaning “King in All Directions,” he is still well known for his leadership of the Eburone tribe of Gallia Belgica. The second new civilization, Gaul, is led by Ambiorix circa 54 BC. This spreads to nearby cities when an unit from an enemy civilization or city-state is defeated.

His unique building, the Hippodrome, is a replacement for the Entertainment Complex but is cheaper, provides additional amenities and grants a free heavy cavalry unit, while his Civilization ability, Taxis, grants additional combat and religious strength for all units for each Holy City converted to Byzantium’s Religion. It also grants nearby units additional combat or religious strength.

This enables his heavy and light cavalry units to do full damage to cities that follow his religion and gets the unique Tagma unit with the Divine Right civic, which replaces the standard knight unit. Basil II’s Leader Ability is Porphyrogénnētos. The Byzantine Empire in Civilization VI brings unique units, buildings and traits with it. He is well known for his conquer of Ancient Bulgaria and his rule is considered one of the greatest in Byzantine history, with his many military exploits leading Byzantium into the height of its power. The civilization is led by Basil II, who ruled from 976-1025 CE. Byzantiumīyzantium, circa 976 CE, is slated to be a religious and military powerhouse, leaning towards both victory paths.
